Occurred on Main St, Fortuna. Rp runs a day care and saw a Scruff McGruff advertisment offering kids' packets on Facebook. Ad looked legitimate, so RP signed up. The seller "Scott" contacted RP stated he was affiliated with the FOPD and FVFD. He then stated he wanted to come to resident to drop off packets for day care kids, and asked if RP's husband was going to be home. RP started to feel uncomfortable. Rp googled it, and found that it's actually a Life Insurance Scam out of Santa Cruz. Rp has an arranged "meeting" with the "Scruff McGruff rep" this afternoon. Rp already tried to cancel. Requesting to speak to officer and possibly have police presence. Rp's friend signed up for the same thing, and "Scott" called her as well - has a meeting today also. .
