After five years at the helm, Cal Poly Humboldt announced earlier today that President Tom Jackson would be relinquishing his position next month.

Jackson’s tenure was historic. The institution’s first Black president, he will likely most be remembered for overseeing the school’s transition to a polytechnic and for navigating the educational complexities of the COVID pandemic. However, he also faced significant criticism for his handling of the pro-Palestinian protests that shut down campus earlier this year.
