POLL! Does the Decreasing Quality and Availability of Health Care in Humboldt Ever Make You Question Whether You Can Continue Living Here?

“That’s a bit dramatic. We have multiple hospitals and numerous specialists. Any time I’ve needed care I’ve been able to find it, so I reject the premise of the question. I guess I am satisfied with Humboldt’s health care!”

“You know, I don’t have any health issues right now, but the ongoing decline in health care options makes me question whether it’s wise to grow older here. Humboldt is beautiful, but it’s challenging. We’ll see.”

“As someone with special health needs (or as someone with a loved one with special health needs), it is increasingly difficult for me to justify living here. Sad as it is to admit, I do consider leaving and may have to someday.”

“Look, we all choose to live in this beautiful-but-rural place. We have pristine forests, beaches and rivers. However, for better or worse, there is no Olive Garden. Yes, I have had to travel out of the area for specific health care needs from time to time. It’s a cost of Humboldt livin’ but, for me, this area’s benefits outweigh its deficits (i.e. no Olive Garden).”

“I don’t know what y’all are talking about. Arcata leads the nation in kambo practitioners per capita. Open your mind, sheeple!”
?? %
“Guess what? I’ve already left. Buh-bye!”
