Quite a few Humboldt residents have never been to Shelter Cove. Even fewer have been to Alderpoint. Orleans, by comparison, is a freakin’ destination. 

This is what we learned this week during a series of dumb LoCO polls seeking to discover which far-flung corners of Humboldt people have dared venture to. To wrap this silly exercise, we’re gonna cheat just a bit. Ruth Lake, though technically within the borders of neighboring Trinity County, is a summer sanctuary to many Humboldt sun seekers. But, like our other poll subjects, it’s waaay out there.
