First things first: On the roster of Humboldt’s trees, there is no question that coastal redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens) receive top billing. Believing otherwise is utter foolishness. People travel from all over the world to see, smell and hug ‘em. Redwoods rule.
Today, though, we are competing for number two. A Sequoia sidekick, if you will. Which of the hopefuls listed below is Humboldt County’s second best tree? Choose wisely.
