POLL! So How Often Do You Get a Summons to Jury Duty, and What Do You Do With It When You Do?
You saw this morning how a husband and wife were empaneled on the same Humboldt County Superior Court jury recently. Weird!
The story reminded us of those times over the years when the court has sent out public alerts talking about how not enough people are showing up to jury duty. Like in 2016, when the court tried a get-tough approach with jury deadbeats. Or in 2022, when it got down on its knees and issued an earnest plea.
The gazillion-to-one odds of a husband and wife serving on the same jury are increased somewhat when there is a limited percentage of the population who receive summonses to jury duty, or who get them but blow them off.
