POLL! When Will Humans Colonize Other Planets?
Some people, when they want to get away from it all, buy New Zealand citizenship. Others go live at the bottom of the ocean.
Still other technofuturists with lots cash — and maybe you could make the case that they are the less selfish ones? — tell us that this isn’t good enough. They look around at all they see, and they say:
We gotta get off this rock! Soon!
We must become an interplanetary species!
Here’s the question for you: When are we going to achieve that? When will humans have a permanent colony located somewhere outside of Earth’s gravitational field, a colony that maybe doesn’t have it all quite together but is well on its way to being self-sufficient in case things elsewhere go … uh, wrong?
