POLL! How Do We Feel About Humboldt’s Proposed New Elephant-Shaped Congressional District?
Maps! Left: California’s Humboldt-including current 2nd District; Right: A proposed, more troll-ish vision.
Last week, Humboldt got its first look at California’s proposed Election Rigging Response Act maps, the golden state’s answer to a similar Texas effort that aims to redraw congressional districts to overwhelmingly favor the party in power. (Read our previous coverage and analysis here.)
In short: Humboldt would anchor the elephant’s trunk section of California’s new Second District which would stretch from Marin to Modoc. Most notably, the new map would tie us to Redding, historically one of the state’s more conservative-leaning population centers.
So! How down are you for California Democrats’ political gamesmanship? Are you enjoying the sport? Or is this all too depressing? Let us know by voting in today’s LoCO POLLZ below.
