POLL! Hmm! Would Jimmy Carter Have Wanted Humboldt County Staff to Take a Day Off to Mourn His Death?
At today’s Humboldt County Board of Supervisors meeting, the board debated whether or not to green light county staff taking a day off to mourn the late President Jimmy Carter — a man legendary for his volunteerism and community service.
Ultimately it was decided that county employees could either a) take an unpaid day of mourning, or b) use their PTO to mourn.
However, during the lengthy discussion, all involved failed to ask the most pertinent question: What would Jimmy do? Would he want people to take a day off to mourn his death?
