POLL! Should We Be Looking to Make Big Changes to Our Hometowns or Should We Mostly Just Try to Keep Them Pretty Much the Same?
Progress?! On Monday the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors approved an ordinance that finally allows plans for the long-debated McKinleyville Town Center to move forward. Read up on all the gritty details in LoCO’s meeting coverage here, if that’s your bag.
As is seemingly always the case when big-to-marginal ch-ch-changes are proposed to our beloved downtowns — whether it be Arcata’s Gateway Plan or Eureka’s Parking Lot Wars — the Town Center item stirred a vocal contingent of people who took issue with various aspects of the scheme. And so it goes.
Now, we could do a straight-up poll on whether or not you support the McKinleyville Town Center and adjacent plans to reduce traffic flow on Central Avenue, but we know that the vast majority of respondents would be forcing an opinion since they don’t have actual skin in the game. That would be lame, so we’ll attempt to ask the question in a broader, dumber way (nuance be damned):
Should we be looking to make big changes to our hometowns or should we mostly just try to keep them pretty much the same?
