Probably you’ve already read Isabella Vanderheiden’s big story about next steps for the Great Redwood Trail here in Humboldt County, which includes the somewhat surprising fact that a very remote segment of trail in the Eel River Canyon is one of the agency’s top priorities.
But have you read the entire 738-page Great Redwood Trail Master Plan? No? Well, go download the PDF at this link, read it and then come back here, because we have a question we want to ask you.
OK, so we’ve mentioned that remote section of the trail — Alderpoint down to the Nature Conservancy’s preserve in the tiny Trinity County section of the trail, on the banks of the Eel. But what else are you looking forward to as much or even more, as far as Humboldt County trail development goes? A lot of the segments we’re talking about are extensions of the Humboldt Bay Trail, but not all.
Here are some options, all of which are listed in the Great Redwood Trail documentation. Which do you think should be Job #1?
