POLL! How Many More Acres of Humboldt County Will Burn in Wildfires This Year?

It looks like we’ve seen the worst of the Mile Post 18 Fire, barring any huge surprises. At 7,610 acres, it’s been easily the biggest Humboldt County wildfire of 2026 — the only one of any size, really.

But will it be the last? There are at least a couple of months of wildfire season left, depending on how you figure it, and as incidents like the fast-moving Hawk Fire outside Reno remind us, these things can pop up and blossom practically overnight.

So what do you think? How many more acres of Humboldt will burn in wildfires this year?

555 votes cast.

Controlled burn.
