Oh dear. Your Lost Coast Outpost returned from a restful Fourth of July weekend spent elsewhere to discover that a great injustice had been inflicted on the people of Humboldt County. Dun-dun!

If you were foolish enough to open Facebook this morning you may have noted that many of our neighbors were very worked up about the start time of Eureka’s fireworks show. Too early, they cried! We didn’t know, they moaned! Think of the children! And so on. The mayor declared an investigation had been launched. Serious stuff, for sure. 

But how serious was this error (to the degree that it was one)? We tend to think our friend Scott (see above) is right. There is only one true way to get a sense of how Humboldt feels about any given outrage: Deploy a trusty LoCO Pollz.
