Good ol’ Fernbridge — arguably the most scenic way to drive over water in Humboldt County — is ailing. It is earthquake-shook. Right now we have it patched up with the large heavy infrastructure equivalent of duct tape and baling wire, but some kind of action needs to be taken for the long-term. (Or does it?)
As you have seen or will see in the story above, Caltrans is looking at eight different different paths forward and it is soliciting input at a public meeting in Ferndale later this month.
