Back when I was working as a stonemason, the master I was apprenticed to introduced me to a term: “rockeye.” 

Rockeye is when you’ve been working on a wall all day and suddenly you reach a spot where no rock in your pile seems to want to fit.

In fact, there is a rock in your pile that would fit there. As there always is. You just can’t see it, because you have rockeye. It’s a kind of fatigue, paired with hallucinatory delusions.

Today, we have what I will call Pollzeye.
