Look, there are plenty of wonderful traditions this time of year. You’ve got the festive decorations, the gifts, the paid time off, etc. But if you ask us, nothing quite alleviates gloom of these short and soggy late-December days like (over-) eating and drinking.
It’s a time-honored ritual! The Romans overindulged during Saturnalia. Pagans held multi-day Yule feasts, gorging on goat, mead and spiced desserts. The ancient Greeks got collectively soused to honor Dionysus. Santa himself will tell you: ‘Tis the season to be chubby!
With that in mind, we’re asking LoCO readers to rank their favorite holiday treats, though we’ve limited your choices to the following list of sweets, savories and beverages. Feel free to nominate your own contenders in the comments.
