DESCRIPTION

* WHAT…For the Winter Storm Warning Monday into Tuesday, heavy snow of 1 to 2 feet expected, with locally higher amounts. Snow level around 2000 feet falling to 1500 feet Monday night. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph Monday morning with near blizzard conditions for a few hours. Light snow accumulation may fall to as low as 1000 feet Monday night into Tuesday. For the Winter Weather Advisory above 2500 feet on Sunday, snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches with locally higher amounts. Winds gusting as high as 30 mph.

* WHERE…Del Norte Interior, Northern Humboldt Interior and Southern Humboldt Interior Counties.

* WHEN…For the Winter Storm Warning, from 10 PM Sunday to 4 PM PST Tuesday. For the Winter Weather Advisory, from 1 AM to 1 PM PST Sunday.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult to impossible, especially Monday. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Strong winds could cause tree damage.
