INSTRUCTIONS
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
DESCRIPTION
* WHAT…Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE…Portions of central California and northwest California, including the following counties, in central California, Lake. In northwest California, Humboldt and Mendocino.
* WHEN…Until 945 AM PST Friday.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 1029 PM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Ukiah, Fort Bragg, Willits, Lakeport, Point Arena, Laytonville, Covelo, Ukiah Municipal Airport, Albion, Upper Lake, Richardson Grove State Park, Garberville, Shelter Cove, Middletown, Honeydew, Clearlake, Potter Valley, Philo, Witter Springs and Boonville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
