INSTRUCTIONS

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

DESCRIPTION

* WHAT…Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…Portions of central California and northwest California, including the following counties, in central California, Lake. In northwest California, Humboldt, Mendocino and Trinity.

* WHEN…Until 115 PM PDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 610 AM PDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Ukiah, Fort Bragg, Willits, Point Arena, Laytonville, Ukiah Municipal Airport, Covelo, Albion, Potter Valley, Philo, Boonville, Rockport, Hopland, Leggett, Gualala, Redwood Valley, Comptche, Calpella, Dos Rios and Navarro. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
