INSTRUCTIONS
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
DESCRIPTION
* WHAT…Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE…A portion of northwest California, including the following county, Humboldt.
* WHEN…Until 200 PM PDT.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Portions of old Arcata road, Hookton road and Berta Rd near Elk River.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 1133 AM PDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. This is causing urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas have already caused minor flooding in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Eureka, Arcata, Orick, Fortuna, Rio Dell, Trinidad, McKinleyville, Westhaven-Moonstone, Carlotta, Scotia, Ferndale, Blue Lake, Myrtletown, Samoa, Freshwater, Arcata Arpt, Cutten, Fieldbrook, Bayview and Pine Hills. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
