INSTRUCTIONS

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.

DESCRIPTION

* WHAT…Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE…Portions of northwest California, including the following county, Mendocino. Garcia River near Point Arena.

* WHEN…Until 815 PM PDT.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. Minor flooding in highway 1 along Gracia River near Point Arena.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 219 PM PDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. This is causing urban and small stream flooding. - At 219 PM PDT Tuesday, The Garcia River stage was 13.1 feet. Flooding is already occurring in the Highway 1 along the Garcia River.
