INSTRUCTIONS

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.

DESCRIPTION

* WHAT…Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE…A portion of northwest California, including the following county, Humboldt.

* WHEN…Until 1015 PM PDT.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Portions of old Arcata road, Hookton road and Berta Rd near Elk River.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 953 PM PDT, Overflowing poor drainage areas have already caused minor flooding in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Eureka, Arcata, Orick, Fortuna, Rio Dell, Trinidad, McKinleyville, Westhaven-Moonstone, Carlotta, Scotia, Ferndale, Blue Lake, Myrtletown, Samoa, Freshwater, Arcata Arpt, Cutten, Fieldbrook, Bayview and Pine Hills. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
