A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
DESCRIPTION
The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect until 10 PM PDT this evening.
* AFFECTED AREA…Fire weather zone 212.
* WIND…Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph with local gusts to 25 mph in favored areas and over higher terrain this afternoon.
* HUMIDITY…Around 15 percent.
* THUNDERSTORMS…Isolated dry thunderstorms this afternoon.
* OUTFLOW WINDS…Gusts to 40 mph.
* IMPACTS…any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
