INSTRUCTIONS

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

DESCRIPTION

The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 3 PM Thursday to 2 AM PDT Friday.

* AFFECTED AREA…Fire weather zones 201, 203, 204, 211, 212, and 283. This includes the communities of Crescent City, Gasquet, Klamath, Orick, Orleans, Hoopa, Willow Creek, Dinsmore, and Hyampom. Areas south of Orick along the coast are NOT included in this warning.

* THUNDERSTORMS…Scattered thunderstorms with abundant lightning developing Thursday afternoon, moving north-northwest from Trinity County into northern Humboldt, western Siskiyou, and Del Norte counties.

* OUTFLOW WINDS…Erratic outflow wind gusts up to 40 mph.

* IMPACTS…Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
