INSTRUCTIONS

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

DESCRIPTION

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…A portion of northwest California, including the following county, Humboldt.

* WHEN…Until 315 AM PST.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 113 AM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 0.8 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.3 to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Garberville, Honeydew, Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park, Richardson Grove State Park, Shelter Cove, Rio Dell, Myers Flat, Weott, Redway, Pepperwood, Whitehorn, Bridgeville, Alderpoint, Scotia, Dinsmore, Miranda, Briceland, and Ettersburg. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
