Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
DESCRIPTION
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE…A portion of northwest California, including the following county, Humboldt.
* WHEN…Until 145 PM PST.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 1039 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Over 1 inch of rain has fallen over the past 90 minutes and up to an additional inch is expected with training storms. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Eureka, Arcata, Willow Creek, McKinleyville, Blue Lake, Fieldbrook, Arcata Arpt, Myrtletown, Samoa and Fairhaven. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
