INSTRUCTIONS
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
DESCRIPTION
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE…A portion of northwest California, including the following county, Humboldt.
* WHEN…Until 900 PM PST Saturday.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 836 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen, with up to 2 inches in localize areas. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Arcata, Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park, Willow Creek, Hoopa, Honeydew, Garberville, Richardson Grove State Park, Shelter Cove, Orleans, Maple Creek, Bridgeville, Pepperwood, Dinsmore, Weott, Myers Flat, Weitchpec, Alderpoint, Redway, Petrolia and Richardson Grove. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
