DESCRIPTION

* WHAT…Rainfall totals will range from 3 to 5 inches across the area. Local amounts of up to 8 to 10 inches are possible over the south- facing and higher terrain.

* WHERE…The heaviest rainfall is expected to occur over Humboldt, southern Trinity, Mendocino, and Lake Counties where flooding is most likely.

* WHEN…Wednesday through late Wednesday night will see the heaviest rain with flood impacts likely lingering through Thursday.

* Impacts…The heavy rainfall will lead to rapid rises of small streams, creeks and rivers. Ponding of water is likely for low- lying or poorly drained areas. The Navarro river and the Russian river now have 50 and 65 percent chance of reaching flood stage. The Eel at Fernbridge is showing a 35 percent chance of reaching flood stage.
