INSTRUCTIONS

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

DESCRIPTION

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE…A portion of northwest California, including the following county, Humboldt.

* WHEN…Until 400 PM PST.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 1038 AM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 6 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Honeydew, Shelter Cove, Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park, Garberville, Richardson Grove State Park, Rio Dell, Weott, Pepperwood, Scotia, Petrolia, Myers Flat, Redway, Whitehorn, Bridgeville, Richardson Grove, Bull Creek, Ettersburg, Shively, Briceland and Miranda. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
