INSTRUCTIONS

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

DESCRIPTION

* WHAT…Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE…A portion of northwest California, including the following county, Humboldt.

* WHEN…Until 600 PM PST.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 548 PM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. This is causing urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas have already caused minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Eureka, Arcata, Willow Creek, Orick, Trinidad, McKinleyville, Westhaven-Moonstone, Maple Creek, Weitchpec, Blue Lake, Fieldbrook, Arcata Arpt, Kneeland, Freshwater, Myrtletown, Samoa, Cutten, Bayview, Fairhaven and Pine Hills. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
