INSTRUCTIONS

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

DESCRIPTION

* WHAT…Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…A portion of northwest California, including the following county, Humboldt.

* WHEN…Until 800 PM PST.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 427 PM PST, gauge reports indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen in a three hour period with rainfall rates up to 0.5 inches per hour. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Arcata, Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park, Honeydew, Garberville, Richardson Grove State Park, Shelter Cove, Weott, Myers Flat, Pepperwood, Bridgeville, Redway, Dinsmore, Whitehorn, Alderpoint, Richardson Grove, Petrolia, Maple Creek, Shively, Bull Creek and Miranda. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
