INSTRUCTIONS

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

DESCRIPTION

…An approaching upper low will direct in a plume of monsoonal moisture. Thunderstorm chances will begin to develop this afternoon for portions of Lake, Mendocino, and Trinity counties, with increasing chances late tonight through Sunday. The dry surface environment will favor dry showers and likely dry thunderstorms which will be capable of gusty, erratic winds…

The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 2 AM to 10 PM PDT Sunday.

* AFFECTED AREA…Fire weather zone 277.Fire weather zone 283.

* THUNDERSTORMS…Likely dry thunderstorms.

* OUTFLOW WINDS..Gusty and erratic outflow winds with stronger showers or thunderstorms.

* IMPACTS…any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
