A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
DESCRIPTION
…DRY THUNDERSTORMS ON DRY FUEL MONDAY AFTERNOON…
.Monsoon moisture combined with increasing upper level winds will aid in continued isolated thunderstorms Monday afternoon focused around the Klamath Mountains. Any storms will be mostly dry.
The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 11 AM to 9 PM PDT Monday.
* AFFECTED AREA…Fire weather zone 283 and 204.
* THUNDERSTORMS…Isolated, mostly dry thunderstorms.
* OUTFLOW WINDS…Gusty and erratic outflow winds up to 40 mph with stronger showers or thunderstorms.
* IMPACTS…any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
