INSTRUCTIONS
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
DESCRIPTION
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE…A portion of northwest California, including the Humboldt Bay region
* WHEN…Until 215 PM PST.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 1117 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 0.8 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Eureka, Arcata, McKinleyville, Myrtletown, Samoa, Cutten, Bayview, Fairhaven, Pine Hills and Humboldt Hill. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
