INSTRUCTIONS
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
DESCRIPTION
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE…A portion of northwest California, including the following counties, southeastern Humboldt, northwestern Mendocino and southwestern Trinity.
* WHEN…Until 415 AM PST.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 123 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 4 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area through 5 AM this morning. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Garberville, Richardson Grove State Park, Laytonville, Alderpoint, Richardson Grove, Redway, Ruth, Leggett, Dinsmore, Bridgeville, Fort Seward, Zenia, Blocksburg, Benbow, Miranda and Piercy. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
