Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

…The National Weather Service in Eureka CA has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in California…
Russian River near Hopland affecting Mendocino County.
Navarro River at Navarro affecting Mendocino County.
Mad River near Arcata affecting Humboldt County.
Eel River at Fernbridge affecting Humboldt County.
For the Russian River…including Hopland…Minor flooding is forecast. For the Navarro River…including Navarro…Minor flooding is forecast. For the Mad River…including Arcata…Minor flooding is forecast. For the Eel River…including Fernbridge…Major flooding is forecast.
* WHAT…Major flooding is forecast.
* WHERE…Eel River at Fernbridge.
* WHEN…From this evening to Saturday afternoon.
* IMPACTS…At 25.0 feet, Severe flooding of the Eel River Delta including areas northwest of Loleta and the western portion of Cannibal Island Road. Numerous road closures in low-lying areas, including Highway 211 to Ferndale. A Special Action Advisory is issued to all owners of livestock in low-lying areas near the river. Appropriate action should be taken to protect livestock.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 8:15 AM PST Thursday the stage was 10.7 feet. - Bankfull stage is 20.0 feet. - Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage this evening to a crest of 25.3 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late Saturday morning. - Flood stage is 20.0 feet. - Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of 25.3 feet on 01/09/1995. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
