INSTRUCTIONS
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

…The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in California…
Mad River near Arcata affecting Humboldt County.
Eel River at Fernbridge affecting Humboldt County.
Van Duzen River Near Bridgeville affecting Humboldt County.
For the Mad River…including Arcata…Minor flooding is forecast. For the Eel River…including Fernbridge…Major flooding is forecast. For the Van Duzen River…Including Bridgeville…Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHAT…Major flooding is forecast.
* WHERE…Eel River at Fernbridge.
* WHEN…From this evening to Saturday afternoon.
* IMPACTS…At 25.0 feet, Severe flooding of the Eel River Delta including areas northwest of Loleta and the western portion of Cannibal Island Road. Numerous road closures in low-lying areas, including Highway 211 to Ferndale. A Special Action Advisory is issued to all owners of livestock in low-lying areas near the river. Appropriate action should be taken to protect livestock.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 1:15 PM PST Thursday the stage was 14.1 feet. - Bankfull stage is 20.0 feet. - Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this evening to a crest of 25.4 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late Saturday morning. - Flood stage is 20.0 feet. - Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of 25.4 feet on 01/01/2006. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
