INSTRUCTIONS

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

DESCRIPTION

* WHAT…Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…A portion of northwest California, including the following county, Humboldt.

* WHEN…Until 300 AM PST.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. There will be an increased risk of rock and land slides along roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 1027 PM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 3 and 9 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Eureka, Arcata, Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park, Willow Creek, Hoopa, Honeydew, Garberville, Orick, Richardson Grove State Park, Shelter Cove, Orleans, Fortuna, Rio Dell, Maple Creek, Bridgeville, Carlotta, Pepperwood, Scotia, McKinleyville and Dinsmore. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
