INSTRUCTIONS

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.

Stay tuned to further developments by listening to your local radio, television, or NOAA Weather Radio for further information.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

…The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in California…

Russian River near Hopland affecting Mendocino County.

Navarro River at Navarro affecting Mendocino County.

Mad River near Arcata affecting Humboldt County.

Eel River at Fernbridge affecting Humboldt County.

Van Duzen River Near Bridgeville affecting Humboldt County.

For the Russian River…including Hopland…Minor flooding is forecast. For the Navarro River…including Navarro…Minor flooding is forecast. For the Mad River…including Arcata…Minor flooding is forecast. For the Eel River…including Fernbridge, Scotia, Bridgeville, Fort Seward, Miranda…Major flooding is forecast.

* WHAT…Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Van Duzen River near Bridgeville.

* WHEN…Until late this afternoon.

* IMPACTS…At 17.0 feet, Flooding begins in lower portions of Grizzly Creek State Park and along River Bar Road.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 1:15 AM PST Friday the stage was 12.6 feet. - Bankfull stage is 17.0 feet. - Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage this morning to a crest of 17.2 feet this morning. It will then fall below flood stage late this morning. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet. - Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of 17.2 feet on 03/26/1971. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
