INSTRUCTIONS
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
DESCRIPTION
* WHAT…Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE…A portion of northwest California, including the following county, Humboldt.
* WHEN…Until 1000 AM PST.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. There will be an increased risk of rock and land slides along roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 750 AM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. This is causing urban and small stream flooding. Between 4 and 10 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Eureka, Arcata, Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park, Willow Creek, Hoopa, Honeydew, Garberville, Orick, Richardson Grove State Park, Shelter Cove, Orleans, Fortuna, Rio Dell, Maple Creek, Bridgeville, Carlotta, Pepperwood, Scotia, McKinleyville and Dinsmore. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
