INSTRUCTIONS

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

DESCRIPTION

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…A portion of northwest California, including the following county, northwestern Humboldt.

* WHEN…Until 1245 AM PST.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Water over roadways. There will be an increased risk of rock and land slides along roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 644 PM PST, local law enforcement reported heavy rain in the advisory area. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Mainly rural areas of Northwestern Humboldt County. - US101 N/ Patricks Point Dr. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
