DESCRIPTION
A moderate atmospheric river has brought periods of brief heavy rain over the past 24 hours. Rain showers will continue across the area today alongside a risk of flooding.
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
* WHERE…A portion of northwest California, including southern Humboldt.
* WHEN…Through this afternoon.
* IMPACTS…There will be an increased risk of rock and land slides along roadways. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain is most likely this morning. This will combine with saturated soils to produce flooding of small streams and low lying areas. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
