INSTRUCTIONS

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

DESCRIPTION

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…A portion of northwest California, including the following county, southeastern Humboldt.

* WHEN…Until 300 AM PST.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 1137 PM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain and persistent heavy rainfall rates up to 0.5 inch per hour. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in additional flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Arcata, Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park, Garberville, Richardson Grove State Park, Bridgeville, Weott, Myers Flat, Pepperwood, Dinsmore, Redway, Alderpoint, Maple Creek, Richardson Grove, Shively, Miranda, Blocksburg, Fort Seward, Bull Creek, Hydesville and Benbow. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
