INSTRUCTIONS
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
DESCRIPTION
* WHAT…Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE…A portion of northwest California, including the following county, northwestern Humboldt.
* WHEN…Until 500 AM PST.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. There will be an increased risk of rock and land slides along roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 235 AM PST, gauge reports indicated heavy rain. This is causing urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas have already caused minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 0.8 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Eureka, Arcata, Orick, Fortuna, Rio Dell, Trinidad, McKinleyville, Westhaven-Moonstone, Carlotta, Scotia, Ferndale, Blue Lake, Myrtletown, Samoa, Cutten, Bayview, Freshwater, Fairhaven, Pine Hills and Humboldt Hill. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
