INSTRUCTIONS
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
DESCRIPTION
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE…A portion of northwest California, including the following county, southeastern Humboldt.
* WHEN…Until 500 AM PST.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. There will be an increased risk of rock and land slides along roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 248 AM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.4 to 0.7 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Arcata, Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park, Garberville, Richardson Grove State Park, Bridgeville, Weott, Myers Flat, Pepperwood, Dinsmore, Redway, Alderpoint, Maple Creek, Richardson Grove, Shively, Miranda, Blocksburg, Fort Seward, Bull Creek, Hydesville and Benbow. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
