INSTRUCTIONS
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
DESCRIPTION
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE…A portion of northwest California, including the following counties, southeastern Humboldt and southwestern Trinity.
* WHEN…Until 800 AM PST.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Water over roadways. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. River or stream flows are elevated.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 638 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include… Garberville, Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park, Hayfork, Richardson Grove State Park, Willow Creek, Dinsmore, Ruth, Forest Glen, Alderpoint, Hyampom, Bridgeville, Peanut, Myers Flat, Redway, Weott, Richardson Grove, Pepperwood, Maple Creek and Blocksburg. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
