INSTRUCTIONS
Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and unfrozen water.
Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.
DESCRIPTION
* WHAT…Very cold wind chills as low as 25 expected.
* WHERE…Del Norte, Humboldt, and Mendocino Coast, and Southern Mendocino Interior.
* WHEN…Until 9 AM PST this morning.
* IMPACTS…Wind gusts will be particularly strong along windward ridges. There is an increased risk of tree branches and other debris on roadways. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures. Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.
