DESCRIPTION

…LIGHT WEEKEND SNOW, LOW ELEVATION SNOW POTENTIAL EARLY NEXT WEEK…

.Light snow showers will continue through the weekend, but high snow levels generally above 4000 feet will limit impacts to only the highest mountains of Trinity County. A cold front Monday will bring a second pulse of snow but also quickly drop snow levels. Snow levels will most likely drop as low as 2000 feet by early Tuesday, especially for the northern half of the area. Heavy snow should be expected in sporadic pulses along highway passes through the week.

* WHAT…For the Winter Weather Advisory above 2500 feet, wet snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches on high peaks. For the Winter Storm Watch for elevations above 1500 feet, heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 10 inches along highway passes.

* WHERE…Northern Humboldt Interior.

* WHEN…For the Winter Weather Advisory, from 10 PM Sunday to 10 PM PST Monday. For the Winter Storm Watch, from Monday evening through late Tuesday night.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Snow levels will continue to fall through the week, with snow as low as 1000 feet by Wednesday. Sporadic snow showers will continue through the week.
