…The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a Flood Advisory for the following rivers in California…
Mad River near Arcata affecting Humboldt County.
.River gauge observations are quickly rising into monitor stage this afternoon. Forecasted crest (18.4 feet) may be exceeded later this evening. Stay tuned for updates in the forecast.
For the Mad River…including Arcata…elevated river levels are forecast.
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE…Mad River near Arcata.
* WHEN…Until late Tuesday night.
* IMPACTS…At 18.0 feet, Minor flooding of Mad River Beach Road near Tyee City.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 12:45 PM PST Monday the stage was 17.1 feet. - Bankfull stage is 22.0 feet. - Forecast…The river is expected to rise to a crest of 18.4 feet late this evening. - Action stage is 15.0 feet. - Flood stage is 22.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
