DESCRIPTION

…The Flood Advisory continues for the following rivers in California…

Mad River near Arcata affecting Humboldt County.

.River gauge observations are quickly rising into monitor stage this afternoon. Forecasted crest (18.4 feet) may be exceeded later this evening. Stay tuned for updates in the forecast.

For the Mad River…including Arcata…elevated river levels are forecast.

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE…Mad River near Arcata.

* WHEN…Until Tuesday morning.

* IMPACTS…At 15.0 feet, Minor flooding begins on the Mad River Beach Road near Tyee City. At 18.0 feet, Minor flooding of Mad River Beach Road near Tyee City. At 21.0 feet, Flooding of Mad River Beach Road. Water may be flowing over roads to Tyee City. Flooding will be enhanced if the time of the crest is coincident with high tides and strong onshore winds.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… - At 6:45 PM PST Monday the stage was 20.5 feet. - Bankfull stage is 22.0 feet. - Forecast…The river is expected to rise to a crest of 20.5 feet late this evening. - Action stage is 15.0 feet. - Flood stage is 22.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
